But let’s not beat around the bush. We want to know why you should drink coffee after meals. So let’s learn the facts!

Benefits of Drinking Coffee after Meals

01. Coffee Aids Digestion

Coffee Aids Digestion

Coffee does wonders to help improve digestion, which is one of the biggest reasons that we think you should drink coffee after eating your meal. And as a result of helping to digest your food properly, coffee can also make you poop. Proper digestion combined with proper elimination are two keys ingredients in nurturing a happy and healthy gut.

02. Temperature

Coffee is usually served hot

Coffee is usually served hot. There are some people who want iced coffee. On the other hand, warm liquid has been proven to alleviate constipation, especially when drank in the mornings. When you take into account how much coffee we normally drink in the mornings, you can see why coffee helps in digestion.

03. Caffeine

It is common knowledge that coffee contains caffeine, with a lot of doctors advising to limit the number of cups since there is so much caffeine in every cup of coffee. Caffeine can have a big effect on the body, making you more alert and waking you up after a sleepless night, but did you know it can aid in your digestion?

Caffeine stimulates the muscles in your digestive track which makes them contract, thus making you want to poop. On the other hand, because coffee is a diuretic, it can lead to harder stools, so if you are suffering from constipation, don’t drink coffee until you are pooping normally again.

How to Lose Weight By Drinking Coffee After Meals

Here are some tips on how to lose weight by drinking coffee after meals:

01. Drink Coffee Moderatel

A little bit of coffee will go a long way. It can temporarily make you lose your appetite and may help burn calories. But too much caffeine can result to higher stress levels and insomnia, both of which can result to binge eating. Just 1 or 2 cups of fully-caffeinated coffee daily may be sufficient to help in weight loss. You should have no more than 400 milligrams of caffeine daily. This is equal to four cups of brewed coffee, 10 cans of cola, or two “energy shot” drinks.

Remember that plain coffee is your best bet in terms of weight loss. One cup of black coffee has only 2 calories and no fat. Soda and energy drinks may have a lot of calories or have hidden sugar that can prevent your weight loss.

02. Space Out Your Coffee Times

If you wish to have the most weight-loss advantages from drinking coffee, think about spacing out your intake throughout the day. Not only can this bring you an additional energy at work or during exercise, but can also suppress food cravings.

Space out your coffee times

Stick to the daily limits as much as possible. For instance, if you can drink 4 cups of coffee daily, you could drink a cup in the morning, one at lunch, one mid-afternoon and a cup at dinner. Adjust the timings to see what works best for you.

03. Drink Half-caff

If you wish to consume more coffee throughout your day, try switching to a combination of full and decaf coffee, usually called half-caff. This will allow you to safely consume coffee up to eight times every day and can help you to be more successful in weight loss.

Drink half-caff

Remember to read product labels to make sure you’re getting half-caffeinated coffee. The label can show the amount of caffeine in a cup. So long as you’re staying within the safe consumption limits a day, you can have as many cups of half-caff as you want.

Create your own half-caff by combining one half cup of regular coffee with one half cup of decaf coffee. Another way is to consume a half a cup of regular coffee with a half a cup of hot water.

While scientific agreement has yet to be reached, there are many researchers and coffee drinkers that agree that coffee should be drank after meals. Whether it is the extra liquid, the temperature or caffeine, there are many individuals around the globe that are sure that coffee is more effective after meals.

So if you wish to make sure that you stay regular day in and day out, maybe you should try to drink coffee after lunch or dinner. Just don’t drink too much, as too much caffeine can be bad for your health. Before you begin consuming coffee, or if you are a coffee drinker suffering from any illness, make sure you ask your doctor to ensure that coffee is not bad for you.

Once you are cleared to consume it, I say go for it, as there really isn’t a better way to improve your digestive system. So brew up a good pot of coffee today, enjoy the warm flavor and begin your body down the road of being regular. What are your thoughts about the article? I would love to hear your stories.
